We understand that privacy is vitally important to our online visitors, to education partners and training providers that utilise our service(s), or end-user students whose information we may process.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store and use personal data when you browse or use www.upskillreskill.co.uk (the “website”), use the embedded Upskill Reskill tool (“the service”) or otherwise provide your personal data to us. Upskill Reskill is an AI driven skills and careers platform that uses external data sources featuring a range of real-world information about careers, including the skills required to perform each role optimally. We use this skills data as a benchmark to identify the skills of our users, based on their career history. We can also understand the level of skill, from low to high, that was a requirement of each role, which allows us to interpret our users’ proficiency level of each skill. Using this information we can create a picture of a user’s employability skills and level of proficiency. Once this is known we can then measure and compare a user’s skills against those of every career in the data set to make recommendations for upskilling and reskilling to careers that have a similar skill set.
Career recommendations are dependent on user data, and are suggestions only Any user skill sets, skill values, skill levels, career-alignments, career-change suggestions, upskill and reskill and/or career or skill transfer suggestions, are generated in response to the data a user has input into Upskill Reskill by way of career history, career goals, experience, qualifications, education level, interests and/or any other self-assessment information and are suggestions only. Any career-training course suggestions are generated in response to the data a user has input into Upskill Reskill, and aligned by the colleges or training providers offering those training courses. The values are subject to change in response to data set updates and/or any changes in the assessment values as determined by the datasets themselves.
We are not responsible for any choices learners’ make following use of the service
Any user skill sets, skill values, skill levels, career-alignments, career-change suggestions, career upskill, reskill and/or career or skill transfer suggestions, and career-training course suggestions, are suggestions only and are based on user and client self-entered data, as compared against the data set values, and should only be considered as suggested Upskill or Reskill career and associated training course options. Any career or training course decisions a user makes based on any information received via Upskill Reskill, is the sole responsibility of that individual. Upskill Reskill expressly makes no guarantee to improve their skills, their career, or any future career security, or career benefits, using Upskill Reskill, and advises individuals to consult and discuss their options with college admissions officers, careers advisors and significant others, before making any major career decisions. Where a college or training provider has consulted with a learner and helped them to reach a decision you agree that Upskill Reskill has no liability in the making of those decisions, whether Upskill Reskill is used alone or in conjunction with any other career skills product.
HorizonAI, including all staff, directors, agents, and assignees, is not responsible for any adverse effects or consequences resulting from the use of Upskill Reskill or from any of the career and training options it suggests.
We are not responsible for the privacy, practices, content or applications or services that may be linked to or from our service.
The information provided by LAICIE should only be used as a guide
LAICIE is an AI-driven chatbot using ChatGPT and known college FAQ information to generate answers to Frequently Asked Questions about Upskill Reskill-partnered schools, colleges, universities, training providers, education authorities, employers and government agencies, and associated training courses, and associated careers. Any information LAICIE communicates is suggestive, subject to change and intended as a guide only. Any decisions a user makes based on any information received via LAICIE, or any section of Upskill Reskill, is the sole responsibility of that individual. We strongly recommend you thoroughly research training providers, check information on their portals and ask your own questions to them before making any career or life-changing decisions.
Your personal data
When we say your “personal data”, we mean any information that identifies any person, that you provide to us during your use of the website or the service, or that is contained in any other information that you provide to us (or that you authorise a third party to give to us on your behalf).
Your personal data may also be contained in information that we collect about you in connection with your use of the website or the service. When it comes to your personal data, we comply with our obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation and any other applicable data protection legislation.
Information you provide
Your personal data includes the information you provide, or that you authorise someone else to provide, when you sign up for an account or to receive our emails, or when you answer questionnaires, surveys, enter competitions or provide any information to us in any way, including in your account profile, on the Upskill Reskill website or client dashboards, or during a support enquiry about you and/or your organisation. It also includes information you provide when you complete any forms which you submit to us. It also includes information you upload to your Upskill Reskill account.
Examples of this personal data include your name, your email address, organisation, your contact telephone number, other users’ details at your organisation; and any correspondence when you contact us.
We do not collect or process special categories of personal data, as defined under GDPR. Also, as Upskill Reskill is not directed at children under the age of sixteen, we do not knowingly collect or solicit any personal data from anyone under the age of sixteen or knowingly allow such persons to register for Upskill Reskill. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under age sixteen without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
Information we collect
We monitor traffic information when you visit our site or read our emails, including things like page visits, email clicks, purchases, links to referring sites, and video viewings. We use this information to improve our website, advertising, promotions, and to understand user and customer purchasing behaviour.
Information about Colleges and Training Providers
When a college or training provider registers for an Upskill Reskill account, we collect information to enable us to create such an account including full contact information for the advisors using the service. We may also retain any information sent to us directly by a college or training provider including emails or surveys. In addition, we will collect information provided by the college or training provider through their use of the service. This is used to operate, maintain, and improve the features of the service.
Student Data
Depending on the service offered, Upskill Reskill may have access to personally identifiable information about students that is provided by the college or training provider, or by the Student. Where the student accesses extended services provided by Upskill Reskill, or HorizonAI, or selected third parties, the college or training provider confirms that it has obtained appropriate parental consents, as needed, before the student is permitted to access the service.
Upskill Reskill only shares personal information in a few limited circumstances, described below. We do not rent or sell information for marketing purposes.

Setting Up Your Account
We use your personal data, and data about your organisation, to enable us to register you and your organisation and provide you with access to your Upskill Reskill account. It will also enable us to contact you using the details provided, where necessary concerning relevant Upskill Reskill opportunities.
Aligning and displaying your training course and contact information with our careers database
We map your training course information to our career database to enable learners to find the most suitable courses, offered by you, that support their career interests. We also display your provided contact information and direct links to your course pages, contact pages, and application pages.
Connecting you with Learners
We use your contact details and account information to provide you with the personalised Skills Reports, and associated career and course interests, requested by adult learners whilst using your embedded version of Upskill Reskill. This will enable you to contact those adult learners who have expressed an interest in your courses, with a good understanding of their skills and their career interests, so you are perfectly positioned to help them find the right training courses offered by your organisation. Learners are required to consent to you contacting them when they request our reports and additional information.
Contacting you for Marketing Purposes
We may use your personal data to contact you by email, post, SMS, and/or telephone to let you know about our other Upskill Reskill services, content, offers or product ranges which may be of interest to you. We will only use your data in this way where you have provided consent, we have legitimate business reasons for doing so, or where we are otherwise entitled by law to do so. If you would like us to stop providing you with such notifications, you will be able to unsubscribe using information within the contact method. To stop receiving emails from Upskill Reskill itself (for example, a reminder that your subscription is expiring), you should cancel your account.
We shall periodically check that the personal data we store for you is accurate. If you would like to update the personal data we hold about you, please login to your Upskill Reskill account or contact us at upskillreskill@horizonai.co.uk with your request.
We only store your data for as long as necessary for the purposes of processing set out in this policy. If you would like us to stop marketing and notifications, you will be able to unsubscribe using information within the contact method. When you cancel your account with Upskill Reskill, your data will be deleted immediately.
If you are signed up to marketing communications, cancelling your Upskill Reskill account will not cancel your marketing preference. If you would like to unsubscribe, please email info@upskillreskill.co.uk.
If your free trial expires, your account is not automatically cancelled within our system. We retain details about your Upskill Reskill account to allow us to reactivate it should you wish to, and to contact you again in the future for this and other purposes, for a maximum period of 5 years. To request the deletion of your account and data please email upskillreskill@horizonai.co.uk. We may maintain anonymised or aggregated data, including usage data, for analytics purposes.
We measure visitors to the website and those using the service using Google Analytics. This records what pages you view, how you interact with the service and features, how you arrived at our site and some basic information about your computer. All of that information is anonymous – so we don’t know who you are; just that somebody visited and used our services.
We share anonymous analytics with Upskill Reskill clients and account holders, so they understand how Upskill Reskill is being used when linked to, or integrated with, their website.

Our principal data sources are O*NET and LMI For All, and the Colleges and Training Providers with whom we embed the platform. Upskill Reskill contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. from LMI for All. The online portal is operated by a consortium led by the Warwick Institute of Employment Research (IER) and including Pontydysgu on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE). All datasets included in the online portal are licensed under the Open Government License. All datasets included in the online portal are used only under the conditions specified within the Open Government License. Upskill Reskill has modified all or some of this information.
